Hype PDF for Mac
Privacy Policy
Hype PDF is built to keep your documents private. This policy explains, in plain language, what that means and what little information is involved.
Last updated:
1. Who we are
Hype PDF is developed and published by HYPERSE SOFTWARE LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”), which is responsible for the app and for this policy. This policy covers the Hype PDF app for macOS and these support pages. If you have any questions about privacy, email support@hyperse.co.
2. Your documents stay on your Mac
Everything Hype PDF does with your documents happens locally on your Mac: viewing, searching, editing text, annotating, filling in forms, signing, text recognition (OCR), converting, merging, splitting, compressing, password protection and redaction. OCR uses Apple’s Vision technology, which runs on your Mac.
Hype PDF has no servers of its own. It does not upload, transmit or share your documents or their contents with us or with anyone else. Hype PDF only opens the files you choose, for example in an Open dialog, by drag and drop, or by opening a file from Finder.
3. Information we don’t collect
The Hype PDF app does not collect personal data. Specifically, there is:
- no user account and no sign-in;
- no analytics or usage tracking;
- no advertising and no advertising identifiers;
- no tracking across apps or websites owned by other companies;
- no third-party SDKs (software development kits);
- no access to your contacts, location, camera or microphone.
We don’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t build profiles about you.
4. Information stored on your Mac
To work properly, Hype PDF keeps a small amount of information locally, inside its own app container (sandbox) on your Mac. None of it is sent to us.
- Recent files: bookmarks (file references) to documents you opened recently, so you can reopen them quickly. These are references, not copies of your files.
- Saved signatures: signatures you draw or import, so you can reuse them.
- Preferences: your settings, plus app state such as whether Hype PDF Pro is active, as last confirmed by the App Store.
While some operations run (for example, conversions), Hype PDF may also create temporary working files in its container.
You stay in control. You can clear the recent files list in the app, delete saved signatures in the Signatures window, or remove all of this data by deleting Hype PDF together with its container folder ~/Library/Containers/com.hyperse.hypepdf. Like any other files on your Mac, this data may be included in backups you make yourself, such as Time Machine.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Hype PDF Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store, using your Apple Account. Apple handles payment; we don’t receive your name, email address or payment information. Hype PDF checks whether your subscription is active on your Mac, using Apple’s StoreKit technology.
Apple provides developers with sales and subscription reports that don’t identify individual customers. How Apple handles your information is described in Apple’s Privacy Policy.
6. Crash reports and statistics from Apple
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers (System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements › Share with app developers), Apple may share crash reports and aggregated usage statistics with us. Apple provides this information in a form that doesn’t identify you, and we use it only to fix problems and improve Hype PDF. You can turn this off at any time in System Settings.
7. Links in documents
If you click a web link inside a PDF, it opens in your web browser. What happens after that is governed by the privacy policy of the website you visit.
8. If you contact us
If you email support@hyperse.co, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, including any attachments. We use this only to reply to you and help with your request, based on our legitimate interest in providing support. Our email provider processes these messages on our behalf.
We keep support messages only for as long as we need them to help you and to handle any follow-up questions, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Please don’t send confidential documents unless they are needed to solve your problem.
9. This website
These pages are static. They don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking, and they don’t load third-party fonts. Like any website, our hosting and security provider may process technical information such as your IP address, and may use strictly necessary security cookies or scripts, in order to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse.
10. Children
Hype PDF is a general-purpose productivity app. It doesn’t collect personal data from anyone, including children.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation, Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to its processing, and to complain to your data protection authority.
Because the app doesn’t collect personal data, we don’t hold any app data about you: it stays on your Mac, under your control. To exercise your rights regarding support emails, contact us at support@hyperse.co.
12. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we’ll post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above. If a future version of Hype PDF ever needed to collect data, we would update this policy and the App Store privacy information before that version is released.
